Neagley Season 1 Cast and Characters Guide

The short answer

Maria Sten plays Frances Neagley and leads the cast. She reprises the role from Reacher. Amazon’s official billing adds Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro and Damon Herriman, with Alan Ritchson as a guest star playing Jack Reacher. All eight episodes arrived together on Prime Video on 16 September 2026. Confirmed

The core team

Sten plays a Chicago private investigator and former military protege of Reacher. Her best-known trait, established in Reacher, is haphephobia, a fear of being touched. Confirmed

TV Insider says Reacher hand-picked her for the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit, where she held the rank of Master Sergeant. Reported

THR calls Sten a Danish actress. Variety lists Reacher, Swamp Thing and Channel Zero among her credits. THR says Santora worked her character into the first three seasons of Reacher, and /Film notes she was absent from season 4. The Guardian gives the pronunciation as “Neely” and indy100 as “Nee-lee”. The character comes from Lee Child’s novels and first appears in Without Fail, the sixth book, according to Collider. Reported

The three other regulars on the team:

• Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley. A Chicago police detective, the black sheep of a family of criminals. Colleagues call him “Rats” because of that family, and TV Insider says the nickname is slang for the Water Rats, a family linked to smuggling and racketeering. Variety lists The Night Agent, Lou and House of Chains, and People adds Bitten and Riverdale.
• Jasper Jones as Keno. Variety describes an orphaned street kid who came through foster care and juvenile detention. Variety lists Bleeding, To Die For and King Ivory among Jones’s credits, and People calls him a Hollywood newcomer.
• Adeline Rudolph as Renee Birdwhistle. An administrative assistant at the Chicago investigations firm where Neagley works, who wants to become a private investigator herself. Variety says she hopes the case will bring answers about her own brother’s disappearance. People calls her best known for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and adds Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat II.

Reported

Sten told Entertainment Weekly the relationship she was most excited about is Neagley’s with Hudson. Santora said the writers built up Renee’s storyline once they saw Rudolph at work. Wootton told Collider the four-person team is the core the writers are developing, and Santora told Entertainment Weekly the show was designed with a team and world that stay from season to season. Echo Canyon and the Tranqlara plot

Santora promised “two sets of bad guys”, played by Del Negro and Herriman, in the Entertainment Weekly interview. The cast below is described only by role, with no fates. Reported

• Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole. Variety says he is not the simple farmer he appears to be. People describes a charismatic but enigmatic cult leader who owns Echo Canyon, and THR calls him a former English professor and folk singer turned guru. Herriman is Australian. TVLine and People point to his two turns as Charles Manson in 2019 and his role as Dewey Crowe in Justified, and he also played Quan Chi in Mortal Kombat II.
• Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow. Variety describes a pharmaceutical figure whose firm is under pressure to deliver on its trauma-treatment promise. Variety places him behind Invection Pharmaceuticals. Variety lists Free Bert, Mayor of Kingstown and Scandal, and People adds The West Wing and Teen Wolf.
• Peter Outerbridge as Arvid Rawlings. Variety calls him a mastermind in crime who holds nine citizenships, owns a private biotech business and can call on mercenaries. Amazon’s official ensemble line does not name him and Wikipedia lists him as recurring, so we call him a recurring villain. Interpretation Variety lists Saw IV, Cool Runnings, Lucky Number Slevin and Silent Hill: Revelation.
• Rebecca Liddiard as Judith Gray. People describes a prominent member of Cole’s farm who knows more than she will admit to Neagley. People lists Frankie Drake Mysteries, Slasher and Fargo.
• Jessica Clement as Mandy. A member of the Echo Canyon community, according to Wikipedia. THR names Liddiard and Clement as its two favorite supporting performances.

Neagley’s family and past

Tyrone Benskin plays Neagley’s father, Calvin Neagley, a former police officer. TV Insider and reviewers describe him as seriously ill from the first episode. Confirmed

Jhaleil Swaby plays Tommy Crane, Neagley’s childhood friend. His death in episode 1 opens the case. Joel Keller plays Gerry (Gerald) York, Neagley’s boss at the Chicago private investigation firm. Confirmed

Wikipedia credits Zion Hutson as young Neagley and Eric Miracle as young Calvin, and Ian Tracey as Boone Riley, Hudson’s criminal father in a guest role. We have found these three credits only on tier 3 pages, so check them on screen. Reported

Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher

Amazon bills Ritchson as a guest star, not as part of the ensemble. Confirmed

Deadline reported in October 2024 that he was expected to guest star as Reacher, and Variety describes Reacher as one of the few people Neagley trusts. Reported

/Film says Ritchson shows up within the first five minutes of the premiere. He helps Neagley rescue a kidnapped child, then goes to a Cubs game with her. THR says he makes more than one appearance after that opening. Variety lists Reacher, War Machine, Fast X and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare among his credits, while Amazon cites The Man with the Bag. Reported

Creators and directors

Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton created the series and are both executive producers and co-showrunners, according to Amazon. Santora’s credits include Reacher, Prison Break and FUBAR, and Wootton’s include Scorpion and The Endgame. Deadline describes Santora as showrunner and executive producer of the original Reacher series. Confirmed

Outlets label the pair differently. TV Insider calls Wootton the showrunner and Santora the Reacher creator, while Amazon uses “co-showrunners” for both. Wootton calls the show a collaboration with Santora. Reported

The other executive producers are Lee Child, Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs and Lisa Kussner. Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios produce the series. Prime Video ordered it in October 2024. Confirmed

Sam Hill directed the first two episodes. THR describes the directing team as led by Reacher veterans Sam Hill, Gary Fleder and MJ Bassett. We do not list who directed each later episode, because the only credit tables we found are on tier 3 pages. Reported
